With 660 residences, 36 hotel suites, and a dramatic two-level, 278-seat restaurant, Nobu Toronto officially opened its hotel on June 1, 2025, marking the brand’s highly anticipated Canadian debut. While the design reflects Nobu’s signature blend of Japanese minimalism and urban luxury, the real guest experience is powered by the advanced technology working quietly behind the scenes.
Lutron partnered with Madison Group, embarking on its first hotel project, to bring this experience to life. In the guest suites, Lutron’s myRoom XC system, paired with Palladiom keypads and QS100 shades, creates intuitive, fully automated environments. From welcome scenes to precise lighting, shading, and true blackout control, the system enhances guest comfort while streamlining back-of-house operations. myRoom XC also integrates with Lutron’s Athena system, a scalable, cloud-connected system used across the restaurant and amenity spaces. Together, they form a unified solution managed from a single dashboard, giving hotel staff centralized control and real-time visibility across the entire property.

In the Nobu restaurant, already named one of Toronto’s best hotel bars by Toronto Life, Athena enables dramatic ambiance control. The ground-floor lounge features custom charcoal e-screens, creating a club-like ambiance, while private dining areas upstairs are designed for intimate, low-light experiences. A final layer of design: a custom botanical pattern was screenprinted onto bistro fabric by a local Toronto printer, integrating natural texture and visual storytelling into the shading strategy.
