With the addition of the patent-pending N950 door, the Altitude Collection offers one of the most extensive lines of 8-foot fire-rated doors on the market today. The new doors are available in a wide range of contemporary and classical styles.
Developed in Novatech’s Quebec-based innovation lab, the new certified N950 steel-faced foam core, wood edge 20-minute single-swing fire doors are the highest-quality fire-rated doors available in an 8-foot height.
Designed for residential applications, such as attached garages, multi-family dwellings, and duplexes, these doors are used as fire-rated barriers between individual units and common corridors and hallways. The N950 features 24-gauge galvanized steel skins which are resistant to warping and corrosion. The door’s rigid polyurethane foam core delivers thermal performance as well as sound suppression. The wood stiles and rails along the door’s edges provide structural integrity and allow for simple, efficient hardware installation.

“The market has been asking for an 8-foot, fire-rated door for years, and until now, the options have been extremely limited,” said Stéphane Joly, Research and Development Director at Novatech. “With the N950, we’re advancing the industry by delivering a certified 20-minute fire-rated solution that aligns with today’s growing demand for taller doors, while maintaining the safety, durability, and performance our partners expect.”
The N950 Series doors meet the fire-resistance requirements of a 20-minute rating when tested in accordance with UL 10C, CAN/ULC S104 and NFPA 252 up to a maximum size of 36″ x 95″.
